Bive
Bive (a project powered by Cabify) is an app that helps you move more safely with your bicycle, showing you information about dangerous streets, parking lots, and workshops. It also helps you keep track of the status of your bicycle and even, if you need it, offers you a monthly subscription to the bicycle that best suits you.
The challenge
Building a digital product and a physical store, all from scratch in a global pandemic situation. Staff resources for this project were limited, which meant that we all had different hats at different stages of the project. The 13-member team performed the work part-time while also working at Cabify.
A sustainable alternative
Cities are changing. Private cars are giving way to new forms of mobility and the bicycle is gaining space on the streets thanks to being an accessible, fast and safe alternative.
With this idea came the project, a conversation between Roberto Pérez and Carlos Tallón in which they talked about what we could do from Cabify to promote cycling in cities. That was the beginning of Bive.
Let's get to work
The quarantine suffered by the Covid-19 offered an amazing opportunity of time to materialize the idea that Roberto had been pursuing for years. At that moment, Carlos decided to count on the help of José, Pelayo, and Miguel to carry out the project.
Starting point: The project officially started on June 12th, 2020; with a deadline set for the MVP on September 16th, 2020.
Strategic decisions: from a design point of view we decided to use the potential of the Marshal (Cabify's Design System) as a solid base to build Bive.

Bive is the perfect companion to make your bike the best option for getting around the city. And, moreover, it's a project promoted by Cabify.

Cycling in the city isn't easy and parking safely isn't easy either. In the 'Go to' section of our app, you can find out the route and parking spaces near your destination. The city is much more bike-friendly than you think.

We offer information on public parking lots and private parking lots to transform car parking spaces into secure bicycle parking.

The experience of moving around on a bicycle is much more pleasant and safe when it's perfectly adjusted and checked. Therefore, in our app, there's a section for you to find nearby workshops at the tap of a button.
We've selected the best workshops in Madrid to have your bicycle always ready. If things get complicated, we'e sure you've a workshop of our network near to you.

If you have a bicycle, you have a treasure. If you already have one, we help you to get the most out of it by offering safety, traffic, and maintenance tips. And if you don't have one yet, we'll advise you to find the best one for you, either in our physical store or in our online store.

We're working to make Bive the reference app when you use your bicycle. For this reason, the maintenance and tips sections will be available soon.

Bive +
Bive Plus is a subscription for those who ride their bike all the time and want to get the most out of it. It's a plan that includes maintenance, cleaning, puncture repair, travel assistance and insurance. If you want, it even includes a bike. And since life is full of twists and turns, you can cancel it whenever you want.
